In a Vase on Monday May 6 2019

I continue to experiment with the photo location. And the arrangement has a couple experiments as well. I have never used stems from my collection of scented Pelargoniums, nor can I recall ever using Heuchera foliage. It will be interesting to see if these hold up.Last weeks Rose extravaganza lasted way longer than I expected it to so maybe this one will exceed my expectations as well.

The Pelargoniaum is  P. 'Attar of Roses' which I acquired last year on a road trip to Southern California. Highly recommended !

I also included unopened budded stems from the  polyantha rose 'Gourmet Popcorn' ,a few sprigs of Sideritas Cypria, and the umbel is Cenolophium denudatum..

Don't know which Huechera this is, and frankly who can keep track of the seemingly  endless new cultivars that seem to be rolled out every year.I have 6 of this one, whatever it is and if it passes the vase life test I'll be using it often .

 The vase is vintage McCoy.

Be sure to stop by Rambling in the Garden..our hostess Cathy will provide many more floral displays to explore.

  1. What an interesting mix this is, and the Cenolophium is a really attractive umbellifer. I found the first bloom of the year on one of my scented leave pelargoniums today - just one though!

    1. My scented P.s are having a banner year this spring. The magic of rain and hardly any frost.

  2. I love your vintage vases - you must have quite a collection! I suspect the Pelargonium foliage will hold up well, if not necessarily the flowers. As I'm always on the lookout for umbels, I checked Annie's site for Cenolophium denudatum but sadly it doesn't look like a good prospect for my zone 11a garden.

    1. I'm afraid I have a bit of an issue when it comes to vintage pottery ! I'm starting to ponder alternate storage solutions...too bad about the Cenolophium in your zone.

  3. I love your term Banner Year above, obviously a term yet to heard much this side of the pond. Thanks for the recommendation of Attar of Roses. Have a lovely week.

    1. 'Banner Year' is a baseball term (most likely) and our friends on the other side of he pond could certainly not be expected to have it in common use. Not much baseball going on over there , right ?
